    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: islingpris Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.tremper/63.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This family lived in Orange County near Montgomery, but has some records in Rockland County. Mary Ten Eyck was also called 'Polly' Ten Eyck. Parents: Rachel and Jacob Eyck/Ten Eyck. Polly was born in NY in March, 1765. Her father left a will dated 1810 filed in Rockland County(Surrogate's Court). John George Tremper married Polly Ten Eyck on 29 July 1794 at the Kakiat Reformed Dutch Church, also called the New Hempstead RDC, and he was recorded as 'Hans Jurry Tremper, a widower.' Hans Jurry is the German equivalent of John George. His first child Margrietje/Mary E. born about 1794 and baptized 7 Jan 1795 at Deer Park Township (now Port Jervis) must be from his 1st wife, whose name I do not know. Children of John George Tremper and Polly Ten Eyck are John (1795), Jacob (1796), John George (1797), Phoebe Ten Eyck (1801) and Catherine Snyder (1803). Their son John married Elizabeth Gardner; Jacob married Maria Roosa and migrated to Washtenaw Co, MI; John G. married Sarah Perry; Phoebe married Wilmot Haines; and Catherine 'Caty' married Jacob LaTourette. A lot of the baptismal records for their children are found in the records of the New Hurley RDC, just over the Ulster County line from Orange Co.
