And his wife Jerusha [unknown]. He was a machinist and an inventor of rotary steam engines, governors and such improvements. I have him in Little Britain, Orange Co NY, in 1849, Buffalo NY 1850-1854, Phila PA 1855-1856, Wilmington DE 1868, Portsmouth VA 1870. Appears he traveled a lot, perhaps on business with his steam engines, inventions, etc. Wife, Jerusha, b.abt 1800 NY, died in Crystal Lake IL 1869. Not sure, but she and John may have been estranged. Children, all born in NY btw 1832-1842: Mary Ann, who married Julius D DETMERS in Buffalo NY [my line], and moved to St Louis MO abt 1865, and then Norfolk VA abt 1875; George [USArmy 1861-1863 21st NY Inf], who also moved to St Louis MO abt 1865; Harriet; and Josephine [m.YATES], who lived [1860] with her mother in Crystal Lake, Algonquin Co IL, and then later [1870] with her father in Portsmouth City VA. [Perhaps Harriet and Josephine are same person as their birth years calc. abt the same.] Any information on my John TREMPER and his family, and the parents of his wife Jerusha, would be greatly appreciated.
