Tremper (and Rachel Ann Tremper) fit into "all this", is that the Tremper/Trumper/Trimper Family in New York State and across the U.S. mainly are descendants of one couple, Johan Jacob Tromper (unlaut above the o)(ca 1670-ca 1740 ) and Anna Christina Welcker( ca 1675-1740 ) who came to Manhattan, NY from Neuwied, Germany about 1720. This couple had 5 sons who came with them, other children who died young back in Germany. The sons were JOHANNES (1703-1771 ); jOHANN GEORG (1709-CA 1770); wILHELMUS (1712-1872); jOHAN jACOB, JR (1715-1719); AND, hERMANNUS (1718-1780). Johannes m. Maritta Felton and settled in Orange Co, NY - Newburgh area. Johann Georg married 1.Lena Dennemarcken, 2.SusannaTypel and setled in Dutchess Co, NY (Rhinebeck area). Wilhelmus married Madelena Hough/Huyk, went up to the Schoharie/Mohawk River Valley, then to Philadelphia PA. His wife came from Dutchess or Columbia Co, NY. Johoan Jacob, jr married Anna Maria Pfeiffer in NYC and their descendants went up to Ulster Co, NY (Kingston area). Those are my direct ancestors.
