Many years ago I worked with a lass who asked me to help her find the Chivers/Pearce family. Alison came from Wales. does this combination mean anything to anyone. janice.buttriss@bigpond.com
Josi I have CHIVERS in Little Budworth, Cheshire - more recent than 1780 but nevertheless could be from a common ancestory. Suggest you try CHESHIRE. If no luck then it may be worth looking at the surrounding counties of LANCASHIRE, DERBYSHIRE, SHROPSHIRE and FLINTSHIRE Hope this helps Errol in Marysville, Victoria, Australia > is anyone interested in the Chivers family of Penton Mewsey > in Hampshire? .Pheobe born there 1780 her parents were Humphrey > Chivers and Catherine King. > Neither of the born in that County. Some suggest it might have been > Wiltshire. >

Four years ago I was given a box of pictures in relationship with my SMART-TILLING family, there is a wedding picture about 1950 and the man on the right is William CHIVERS and next to him is Aunt Bessie?. I think they were from Bath as there is a picture of Bath in the box. I have sent the picture to England Australia and have not been able to determine who they are. I did investigate but could not prove anything. If you want the picture I can send it to you. I know they are related to the Smarts as she was referred to in an old letter as aunt Bessie. Jane Gosselin a5a94630@telus.net
Please is anyone interested in the Chivers family of Penton Mewsey in Hampshire? .Pheobe born there 1780 her parents were Humphrey Chivers and Catherine King. Neither of the born in that County. Some suggest it might have been Wiltshire. Josi Hastings

Hi When we subscribe to a mail list - We receive every message sent to the list - not only our interests. Very easy to delete those we are not interested in. There is an advantage to receiving the mail. Some may have some connections to our own research - Or they may have come across information related to our research. Reading of others search - may provide other research advise that we might not have considered. Allows us to offer assistance to others - Cheers, Stella At 11:23 AM 25/02/2008, David Mann wrote: >Hi Barbara >I received this message from you but not quite sure why, I don`t have any >of these people in my tree. This is Cross posted, Apologies if you see this more than once. Hi everyone, Over the last week or so, Carol and I have been swamped with bounced messages due to: 1. Mail boxes are FULL 2. Rootsweb mail being marked as spam by ISPs. The ISPs which are causing the problems are: breathemail.net and cgocable.net Also there is a problem with Hotmail addresses. (See below) BTinternet also seems to be generating bounces. I have written to those affected subscribers AND the support addresses of the relevent ISPs. Please contact your ISPs and ask them to stop refusing Rootsweb mail. One subscribe address alone created more than 200 bounces which is very time consuming. Bounces. The robot at Rootsweb is set to automatically unsubscribe after FOUR bounces. Hotmail. There seems to have been problems with Hotmail for several weeks now, off and on, and remember after 4 bounces you are removed from the list by the robot. The way to deal with this is use the DIGEST version of the list as this does not seem to be affected. The Hotmail problem is widespread and Rootsweb are dealing with Hotmail directly, trying to resolve the problem.
