    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mYSBAEB/238.1.2.1.1.1.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: TREADWAY (et.al.)/MAY/KITE Does any of this ring a chord with any research efforts on your end? If it does, I have additional data on this TREADWAY line. i. Daniel ISHAM TREDAWAY/TREADAWAY (b c 1768 MD/d 1817 Robertson Co TN, leaving a will). ISHAM first appears in Tennessee land tax records, as an adult, in 1797 [TN became an independant state in 1796] Grainger Co (which was a part of Greene Co TN, at that time). ISHAM migrated from East Tennessee to Middle Tennessee, Springfield, Robertson Co TN, circa 1801; purchased land in Robertson Co TN in 1803, at sheriff's auction; registered his land of 1803 in 1805 Robertson Co TN [accompaning ISHAM, & his family, to Robertson Co TN, were his sister & brother-in-law, Nancy Treadway & William Finley & their family. [In 1790 NC census William Finley is listed in the Burke Co NC area which became (Sullivan Co) TN when TN gained statehood.] [Also in the 1790 Burke Co NC census are William Treadway; Aaron Treadway; Robert Treadway -- Robert Treadway (1762 MD/1835 TN) m Nancy Lynch (1762 VA/1845 TN); his sister, who lived near him, until she moved to Robertson Co TN, is Nancy Treadway Fi! nley; John Lykins (Lekins/Likens) in the 1790 Burke Co NC census had a son by MARY TREADWAY, that son is JESSE TREADWAY, who went to VA/WV]. In ISHAM's will he named his wife and all eight of his children. + HANNAH MAGNESS (MD/KY) [child, among others] ii. BENJAMIN A. TREADAWAY (b 1801 TN) + MARY "POLLY" BYRD [Benjamin migrated from TN to MS to AL to AR to AL to MS; as did several of his brothers (I believe they were adjusting the state lines back then & they really weren't moving around).] [Following data from the 1850 MS census.] [children, among others] iii. THOMAS TREADAWAY (b 1836 MS) iii. CAROLINE TREADAWAY (b 1839 AL) iii. JAMES TREADAWAY (b 1841 AL) iii. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN "BEN" TREADAWAY (b 1842 AL) iii. JEREMIAH TREADAWAY (b 1849 MS) [This is the ONLY Benjamin Franklin Treadaway (aka B./B. F../Ben/Benjamin/Franklin/Frank) who fits the time span to be of age to fight in the Civil War -- all other Benjamin Franklin Treadway's (et.al.) have been accounted for.] Could this, possibly, be OUR Benjamin Franklin? I think it just might be him. As for the MAY family connection -- this B. F.'s family was closely associated to the MAY family of East Tennessee through several TREADWAY/MAY connections. CJ
