I am looking for information on the parents of Jesse Treadway who was born in Botetourt County, VA around 1800. Jesse's mother is said to have been a Mary "Polly" Treadway but her maiden name is not known. Jesse came to Fayette County, WV with John Lykins who named Jesse as his son in his will. I have seen the will and I don't remember any other children being named. There are records here in Fayette County which state that John Lykins wife was named Polly and if she is the same Mary who was the mother of Jesse, I suspect that Jesse was his stepson. Does anyone have proof that Polly and John were actually husband and wife? Where did the marriage take place? And what was Mary's maiden name.
