Treadway and his service record in the Civil War. It was my understanding that he was in the Confederate Army. I have actually found the name of the unit, but still haven't found his name with them. First, I found the pension card that Eliza applied for with his name on it. After guessing at the initials, etc. I finally found a site that shows that the F 72 Prov En M M stands for : 72nd Provisional Enrolled MO Militia with service in southwestern Missouri, particularly Springfield. I have written to the owner of the site (a professor who has written book on the war) and hope that he will reply to my querie regarding a list of those in this unit. I'll keep you posted...it is my understanding from reading this, that he was with the Union. I could have misread the info though.
