Hi List, i have just started research on my husband's family, their g.grandmother was Mary Jane Treadway who married Allen Deatherage on May 5, 1879 in McNairy Co., TN. The information i have on Mary Jane is from bible records and a Deatherage Book which mention letters dated in 1894 from Allen Deatherage and his second wife Sarah to the Treadways in Fannin Co., Texas. (Mary Jane Deatherage(Treadway) had died about 1892), another place mentioned was Hardin Co., TN.......Letters----Starting on June 12, 1894, Allen wrote to Mary Jane's sister and husband, Tom S. Baker and Lou Treadway Baker, in Texas. Allen tells of how good Sarah is to his children. A letter from Sarah (Allen's second wife) written to Sarah Treadway, (Mary Jane's mother) tells of Allen getting his thumb and 2 fingers cut off in the gin on Oct 20th. Next letter says Allen died on Nov 8 at 8 o'clock....Sarah said Allen requested the Treadways raise his children so to keep them all together. She asked Pa Treadway and Tom Baker come get the kids in 2 weeks. On Dec 10th she wrote the Treadways of missing the children. By searching in Fannin Co., Texas, i found Allen & Mary Jane Deatherage's children living in 1900 Fannin Co., Texas in the household of a Wm. Treadway b.c1870, his brother B. Newton Treadway b.c1872 and their sister Susan Taylor b.c1868, the Deatherage children are listed as Nephews and Neices....... 1900 Fannin Co., Texas, 5th day of June, Justice precinct 3, Sheet 13, 249-253... Our line is through Isom(Isham P on 1900) Parker Deatherage b.June 15, 1887 married Ibbie Priscilla Taylor Feb 14, 1910 in Wichita Falls, Texas, and their son Allen Parker Deatherage b.March 20, 1917 in Des Moines, New Mexico married living spouse. Family information says Ibbie Priscilla Taylor was married before, and this man was a cousin to Isom Deatherage. This man ran off with their son, and Ibbie never heard from them again....Some in the family say Ibbie's son's name was Ovid Lee Davis....we wonder if this is a connection to Thomas & Sarah Treadway's daughter Agnes Davis who had two sons Thos. W. Davis & James L. Davis...??? This is all the info that the family has on Ibbie's first marriage & child....and no one seems sure of the child's name.....Anyway, any info on the above would be very appreciated. Cheryl
