George Steell moved to Rouse's Point N. Y. in 1853 from his home in Canada, where he trained in the merchant trade. In 1857 he left N. Y. and went west to Montana under the employ of the American Fur Company. He returned to N. Y. and married Eva Treadway and brought her back to Montana. She died on 17 Dec 1869. I'm sure she was someone he met during his time in Rouse's Point and returned for her when he was established.
