Treadway was the son of Moses and Catherine DeWitt Treadway (Catherine was the daughter of Peter DeWitt -- a Revolutionary War veteran). The marriage bond of Moses and Catherine is at the Clark Co. KY Courthouse (1794 I think). Anyway, Moses was the son of John Treadway (1741-1834), who had moved to KY (then VA) from Charlotte Co. VA ca 1785. He had been awarded 50 acres for his service in the French and Indian War. John left a will in Montgomery Co. KY in 1834. John was the son of Richard Treadway II of Cumberland Co. NC (1706-1774). Richard also left a will. Richard was the son of Richard Treadway I of Maryland. He died ca 1720 in MD. There are tons more details.
