He was born in Harford County, Maryland. There he married on 20 March 1810 Elizabeth Anderson, daughter of Daniel. She was born 8 May 1789 in Harford Co. By 1819 Edward and Elizabeth were in Hamilton County, Ohio where son William Thomas Treadway (1819-1912) was born. The family was located in Cass Co, Ill by 1829. Elizabeth died 11 Dec 1831 and was buried on the farm located in Section 10 of then Monroe Precinct (Township 17 North, Range 11 West). Today the Township is known as Arenzville Twp. Edward followed in 1859 and their place of burial is known as the Treadway-Miller Cemetery. See page 28 of the 1966 booklet: "Old Cemeteries of Cass County Illinois" by Arthur Crumrin. Thanks to the considerable efforts of the late Oswell Garland Treadway, a great grandson of Edward & Elizabeth, we know about many of the family descendants. In 1976 a privately published manuscript was issued containing over 40! 0 pages. The hard bound volume is entitled: "Edward Treadway 1784-1859 and His Descendants." A later copy of the manuscript is deposited at the Newberry Library in Chicago, Illinois. My wife and son are descendants of Edward & Elizabeth via grandaughter, Margaret Elizabeth Treadway (1852-1934) who married Ahija Rice Morris. Margaret was the daughter of William Thomas and Mary (McHenry) Treadway. We welcome contact from others researching this family.
