My paternal grandmother was Virgie Isabella (Treadway) Dent. she was born 1876 in Washington County, TN to Charles Quillen and Mariah Embre (White) Treadway. She left Tennessee somewhere shortly after the turn of the century with my grandfather, Alvin Weldie Dent. They moved to Columbia County (Bloomsburg area), Pennsylvania. She had 7 brothers, the oldest one being William W. Treadway who was born 1854. Could this possibly be who you are looking for? Hope to hear from you soon. 2. Hi Mary, there is a lot of info on the Treadway family that's available  A lot of them came through this part of Illinois during the 1860s and 70s. my Elizabeth is not the same as yours but if I run across anything for you I'll send it your way.   Lee Dear Lee: I am researching DeWitt TREADWAY, born in New York in 1820. He wound up in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri in the 1880's. I wonder if he came through Illinois? Can you tell me where I might find out? Thanks Dave Conley

    2. Sorry, I don't have any information on Elizabeth Treadway in Illinois. I only have information on Charles Treadway and his wife. I know there is an old book on the Treadway in my family. I saw it when I was younger. I believe my Treadway line started in or around Tenn., thought am not for sure. All info I have is sketchy. Will keep in touch if I get good informtion, or documentation.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mYSBAEB/1.7.9.10.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I'm just beginning to find informatioin on the Treadway/Head family, so I'm not sure of any information yet. What I have is an Elizabeth in Martin County, Indiana in the 1870 cenust, as age 17. The next piece of information I have on Elizabeth is that she married John Head in Martin County, Indiana, in 1893. My grandfather Raymond Head was born in 1897. John died when Ray was about 7, so that would put death about 1904. I feel pretty good about the marriage information, but I don't kow if I have the correct Elizabeth in the 1870 census. That would make her birth year about 1853 (just a curious point here, I've had a gold dollar on a chain since I was a child, dated 1853. I always wondered what the significance of the date was. Now, I wonder if this could have belonged to Elizabeth and it was in fact her birth year) I know that is a stretch, but it's a thought. I know that as long as I can remember, say from the 50s, Grandma Elizabeth "Bredeweg" (she married again to a Mr. Bredeweg) always lived in Indiainapolis and we would visit her. That's where I've always lived. Any help would be appreciated. If we find that we're of the same line, I'd be glad to share what I have. Mary
