I have been trying for a number of years to find some of my Treadways, but so far to no avail. My paternal grandmother was a Treadway from Irwin/Embreeville/Jonesborough Tennessee area and had 8 brothers. I know there must be cousins down there somewhere but so far, have not heard of any. I believe my grandmother's one brother was Elbert. Grandmother's name was Virgie Isabella (Treadway) Dent. Her parents were Charles Quillen Treadway and Mariah Embree (White) Treadway. If you know anything, would you be kind enough to contact me at: [email protected] Thanks very much. LuAnn Dent Everitt

    3. Is there anyone on this list that had Treadways in Hot Springs (originally called Warm Springs) Madison County, North Carolina? My line is Lelia Agnes Treadway, born October 23, 1885, the daughter of James Franklin (aka Frank Randall thanks to Randy Treadway) and Mary Molly Harrison. I have old photos of my grandmother (and Lelia) taken on a pile of rocks that still stand today. (Almost molten looking) I am curious to know if the photos were our family tradition or a town tradition. I would love to hear from any cousins from that "neck of the woods." Thanks Tammy @ [email protected]

    3. Well if everyone is like me, they are up against a brick wall... still haven't found the parents of our Percilla (Priscilla) Treadway born 1799 and married Jonathan Wesley Woody, Sr. Migrated from North Carolina to what became Lumpkin County, Georgia. Many articles have been written about Percialla - she was a mid-wife and literally the only doctor around for decades in that part of North Georgia... she was said to have been half Cherokee. Some have listed her father as John Treadway but no other information - another states that Percilla's mother is only listed as "Crutcher" or some other spelling on census information. A descendant claims that Percilla's mother's name was Judith Cruthers or Crutcher. Was Percilla an only child?
