They were Methodists and the church where they were buried is still active but they have no records from that time period. I did check the index for the Southern Christian Advocate (a SC Methodist paper but they frequently included stories from GA). I haven't dug any further than that. I just can't imagine losing a child every couple of years. As soon as another one was born one died. I have a family that had two children die within a few months of each other in 1886. The newspapers of that time did not include death information, and there were no vital records.
