    2. Amy, I have seen FTM at Costco. Although when I went to get FTM 2012 I couldn't find it there and ended up downloading it from Ancestry.com. Like Eileen I have used FTM since version 3 I did not upgrade from version 16 until 2010. Over the years I have used The Master Genealogist and Legacy. My biggest complaint with Legacy is I don't like the way you input data nor do I like the way the data is presented. However Legacy has some nice reports in it. FTM 2012 has improved several of there reports over the 2010 and 2011 versions. TMG takes too long to learn and I spend to much time figuring out how to set things up the way I want it. When I first used TMG it made a mess out of my data but that was because of how I input data into FTM 16. Those problems have been fixed with the newer versions of FTM. The biggest thing I like about FTM is the source page. I can see all my sources at once and I can edit them right there. I don't use source templates. I write all my sources using EE. I have found that the templates don't do what I want them to do and it is easier and quicker to write them out then add the italics ect. from the source page. One of the updates for FTM 2012 that I am loving is you can copy and paste a fact to numerous people. For example when I add a census fact for a family every one in the household has that fact entered on there page. Now all I have to do is enter it once, right click on the fact select copy then right click on the same fact and click paste a dialogue book opens up with the persons parents, spouses and children unclick the person I am on and then click everyone in the household and hit enter. Not only does the fact populate on all those I have check it also includes the citation I have associated with that fact. 3. Ann, you said, " For example when I add a census fact for a family everyone in the household has that fact entered on there page. Now all I have to do is enter it once, right click on the fact select copy then right click on the same fact and click paste a dialogue book opens up with the persons parents, spouses and children unclick the person I am on and then click everyone in the household and hit enter. Legacy can copy events (with sources attached) too but you have to paste them to each person one at a time. Legacy 8 is due out at any time. I wonder if they have incorporated this feature. It would be nice if they did! Michele
