Amy I hear your pain. Can you clarify whether these issues started immediately after you installed FTM 2010 on your new Windows 8 computer? It sounds to me like the ftm data file has been corrupted. Have you tried opening a backup file or an earlier version of your data file, that was created before upgrading your computer? Are the issues still present? If you haven't got backups, I sympathise and I'll plug my ears while you scream. Sometimes a file can be repaired by running 'Compact file' on the 'Tools' menu.
