Nancy,   Try searching the FamilySearch catalog for the "Register of marriages of the city of Edinburgh, 1751-1800" which appears to be the item cited by Tony P. below. It's available on FamilySearch -scanned! It is 800 pages so it takes a while to load. Janet and George appear on p. 159. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have much more information than what Tony P. gave you.   Try this link - you may need Internet Explorer and may need to allow the file to load:   https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE518282   You could also try searching "Edinburgh marriage registers" in the catalog which may have some more leads.
