Hello, I found this while doing some research: Jabez and Margaret (Hockett) Smith VanDoren Is Margaret's maiden name Smith or Hockett? Thanks, Dave

If this name had been written in the standard format, then Hockett is her maiden name, Smith her first married name, and VanDoren her current married name BUT you can never assume that. You would need to contact the person that wrote it that way to ascertain exactly what they meant by it.
