    1. [TGF] Citing family tradition
    2. Daniel Sample
    3. Hello, I am working on a bio of my great grandfather and his date of birth and date of immigration is different in each record I have (census, death certificate, passport application). I'm citing according to EE 3.45, however the information was reported by a few people (his children) but no mention of which ones reported what information. Would putting 'reported by various family members' or something similar be ok? Also, if I enter a range, say 1845-1851 should I cite each record individually or just pick one or two examples and put them in the same note? Thanks

Daniel, the last part of your last sentences hints at another issue that needs to be considered-i.e., "the information was reported by a few people (his children) but no mention of which ones reported what information." Question: No mention WHERE? If you interviewed the children, then you would know who said what, right? If you didn't interview those children, then you would not want to use a citation form for an interview in which tradition was reported (i.e., the EE 3.45 you referenced). You would need to cite whatever IS the source of your information. Or am I misunderstanding you? 1. [TGF] Will questions
    2. Erin J
    3. Help, I'm looking for a will to transcribe for practice. This is a basic beginning question. I've found alot of wills on Family Search and some other County sites.   They all seem to be taken from volumes. I thought that wills were individual documents.   Are the wills in the volumes held by the Counties, copies of the originals? or duplicate copies and the family has the original?   I'm not sure where to go to ask this questions. It just seems odd to me that they are all in volumes?   If this is a "it depends" question, please let me know where to find more information on Wills.   Thank you,     Erin
