    1. [TGF] question about a Civil War service record

    3. Hi, I have a Civil War service record that has a "Retired" card in it. I do not understand what the notation means on the "date" portion of the card. If you have time, would you mind going to my blog at maggiegen.wordpress.com and look at the new post? I have a copy of the card there. I have also put my idea as to what it says on the blog. Thank you for your help! Maggie

    3. Maggie, You might be interested to know that NARA has a digitization project underway for RG109. Your Special Order should be in Chapter 1 (Adjutant and Inspector General's Office). Most likely in Vols 209-211 which covered SOs 1-310 dated 2 Jan 1864 to 31 Dec 1864. You can read about the project at: http://blogs.archives.gov/TextMessage/2012/06/20/select-confederate-records- digitization-project/ Carl Oehmann -----Original Message----- From: transitional-genealogists-forum-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:transitional-genealogists-forum-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Maggie Champion Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2013 6:24 AM To: TGF Group Subject: [TGF] question about a Civil War service record Hi, I have a Civil War service record that has a "Retired" card in it.
