>You could prepare articles for peer reviewed genealogical journals. Good luck. David, if your objective is to establish an income stream as an author, you will need to focus on commercial publications--a step you appear to have already taken. Peer-reviewed journals, a medium that has been suggested to you, rarely pay for their scholarly content. The Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly, our field's major trade journal, does pay for content that is accepted for publication. Books published commercially have traditionally provided the "best" income stream, but "best" is a relative word. Most genealogical authors I've known across the decades have found it necessary to maintain a variety of income streams from other professional endeavors--and many current book publishers (in and out of genealogy) are today experiencing exceedingly lean times.
