Having worked in marketing for many years before I set up my own genealogical practice, I cannot stress enough the importance of having a good website. But the site must reflect a positive, modern, and professional image. It must reflect your abilities. And you do not have to spend very much on the site. If you are capable of using the relatively simple software many platforms provide, and of writing well, you will find it is easy and inexpensive to create your genealogical brand. The other must for success is to become a member, when you are qualified, of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
