Debbie, One of the courses offered by the British Institute in Salt Lake City this year is ³Tracing Your Irish Ancestors,² a week-long course with Fiona Fitzsimons of Eneclann in Dublin, as the instructor. The British Institute is sponsored by the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History, will be held 21-25 September 2015, at the Salt Lake Plaza hotel, which is next door to the Family History Library. One of the benefits of the Institute is that all classes are held in the morning, then the instructors work with their students at the Family History Library every afternoon. This would be an opportunity for someone to delve into the local records in the state where their ancestor lived, then use those findings along with the Irish records held by the Family History Library, all with benefit of the instructor onsite to guide you. She has information on her ancestors who came from Ireland with a rather common surname. She doesn't know what county in Ireland they came from and would like to learn more on ways to try to trace the family tree. I know there are numerous Irish genealogy classes available and would like to be able to refer her to a good one that might provide some help in her quest. Would appreciate any recommendations! Thanks, Debbie Harvey
