Hello, everyone. I am hoping someone is familiar with the Sims Index of Land Grants in West Virginia, a copy of which is here: https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE93462 This index is arranged by county, then alphabetically by name. It includes name of grantee, acres, local description, year, book, page. I am interested in looking up an original grant that is referenced in this collection, specifically for Brooke County, Anthony Wilcoxon, 1803, book 1, page 478 (see pg. 42 of Sims index). However, when they reference "Book 1, page 478" what Book 1 is that? It does not appear to be the Brooke County Deed books as v. 1-3 covers 1797-1805 yet there are other listings on the page for 1843 records also in "Book 1."
