I just visited many libraries this summer and found incredible materials because of exceptional finding aids. Know that's a labor cost but perhaps could somehow be done or done as part of updating web sources to let others know the details of your collection. Have to say that I went to libraries & spent $$ in nearby campgrounds because I knew the items were in a specific library.
