David, My opinion is that you are right to hesitate posting a volunteer genealogical website in the APG directory. It is the Association of Professional Genealogists. To be fair to the professional genealogists in the area I would limit my posting of the service to other locations. It is fine to offer your services for free, if that is what you choose, but I would choose another venue for advertising.
