    1. [TGF] Help with Sims Index of Land Grants in West Virginia
    2. Shannon Green
    3. Hello, everyone. I am hoping someone is familiar with the Sims Index of Land Grants in West Virginia, a copy of which is here: https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE93462 This index is arranged by county, then alphabetically by name. It includes name of grantee, acres, local description, year, book, page. I am interested in looking up an original grant that is referenced in this collection, specifically for Brooke County, Anthony Wilcoxon, 1803, book 1, page 478 (see pg. 42 of Sims index). However, when they reference "Book 1, page 478" what Book 1 is that? It does not appear to be the Brooke County Deed books as v. 1-3 covers 1797-1805 yet there are other listings on the page for 1843 records also in "Book 1." I am not understanding to what "Book 1" refers. The introduction was vague to me. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance. Shannon Shannon Green | Genealogist 203-502-9584 www.greenwichgenealogy.com

    1. [TGF] Warren Bittner Thesis and or Syllabus FGS 2012
    2. I have a recording of Warren Bittner's lecture Understanding & Researching Illegitimacy: A Case Study from the FGS conference in 2012. What I don't have is the syllabus for the lecture. I have tried looking for a copy of the syllabus and have not been successful. I would also like to know if there is a place that a copy of Warrens Thesis, " Culture, community, and class in the Bavarian marriage process, 1789-1849 : Leonard Büttner, Margaretha Weiss, and their illegitimate children" is available for purchase or viewing online? WorldCat shows copies available at the FHL in Salt Lake an in Logan UT. I went through my libraries site to ProQuest and they don't have access to the thesis section of ProQuest. I would like to use the thesis and the lecture as references. From the recording I have Warren mentions the extensive bibliography that was part of the syllabus. This would also be helpful. Thank you for any help in locating these materials. Ann C Gilchrest

I appreciate any insight. Thank you in advanced! Tonja

An obituary listing confirmed this fact, and provided for me some indirect evidence of his residence in NYC before his move to Santa Monica.
