If you only do a live presentation and then have an issue with the internet then you are stuck. I also make sure that I have my presentation on my laptop and also on a memory stick (with a backup on the Cloud) as it depends on the projector age as to whether or not you can just plug your laptop in and go or have to use the technology in the room. 3. Thanks, All. I really knew, deep down, that I'd have to do the screen shots. I just finished working on two presentations for next week, and the thought of one filled with lots of screen shots seemed more daunting than just doing the thing live. But I do appreciate what Jill said about using the presentation again. If I do it again, and I likely will, I'll be ahead of the game. Our library is technologically fabulous, but even they have no control on the Internet at times. Someone else also suggested using video screen capture, and I likely will at least try that on parts. So I will just buckle down and get to work. 3. I will be doing a presentation on the unindexed FamilySearch databases for our local library. I've been really excited about doing this presentation, but then I got to thinking about the jillions of screen shots I'll be doing if I don't do it live. I'd love to do it live, but I know that I run the risk of the internet either being out or being slow. Even if I did it live, I would walk through every step beforehand to make sure that I could minimize wasted steps in jumping around the images. Any words of wisdom from anyone who has done this before? My third thought on the matter was that even though I would have to do a lot of screen shots the verbiage to go with is pretty minimal. 3. I always set up the slides as if I will not have access to wifi. I use my presentations multiple times in some small societies who do not have the reliable wifi. 3. You could it both ways. Show some screen shots and then do a section live to reinforce the practice. If the connection is slow, you can then continue with your presentation of more screen shots. This is how I've handled it. I love teaching about the browse only records.
