Truthfully, all you could see was Azema and what I thought was kicard. Then I kept going and found the Ricard in the same record. I guess they couldn't identify anyone else so they just attached it to the records they could see. It's good to know I have been able to give you a little more information. From what I can see. I've tapped out that resource for now. I did go into the public records and found a gentleman that had the marie and narcisse with 7 kids listed. I believe him to be looking for more Melonson people. I sent him an email as he's been doing this for years. I'll let you know what I find out. I can say I'm pretty sure the two 1860 census reports that have Renice listed are probably the same. Maybe she was sold or traded. Azema, is not a common name even for that time.I'm thinking maybe Ricard was a brother. Or, maybe he was just another slave that was passed on or sold with her. Like I said the trahan name is all over the place. One note, the name of the Boudreaux that has Azema listed under hers in the 1860 census was Marcelien Boudreaux and she was married to a Emile Sellers. Maybe that name will be in your records and it confirms. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
