I have to give myself a break or this search makes me frustrated. Mary Hortense Trahan is my grandmothers mother. so that would make her my great grandmother. As far as I know, she had many children but I may not have all their names. I have 12 so far. I have yet to find any of my great aunts and uncles from this side of the family. If we have the same Mary Hortense it's my understanding she was white and my great grandfather was creole or mulatto and could pass for white.
