Hello all, As you probably already know the mailing lists are being moved to a new list management system. This list is scheduled the week of Sept. 10th. For the exact schedule schedule and additional information see: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/migrate_sched.html. Please note that this schedule is subject to change. A couple of things you need to know: 1. Subscribers who subscribe in both the list and digest modes using the same email address will no longer be able to do so. You may still subscribe to both but you will need to use two email address. You can always use a free Internet account such as hotmail, yahoo or gmail. 2. You should be aware that you may need to adjust your spam filters. Officially from rootsweb: <snip> The "-L" is being dropped from the "official" list name. This means the "from" address your mailing list emails come from will be slightly different- ListName@rootsweb.com vs. the current ListName-L@rootsweb.com. You may have to adjust your spam filters or put the new address on your "accept" list to prevent it from being caught in your "junk" folder. <snip> You will be able to send mail with or without the "-L" Any questions just email me at jasche45133@gmail.com Sincerely, Joan Asche List Admin
Mathias Trace. What I know is, he is initially in Franklin Co., Pa. in 1790(after the death of his father Conrad) and in Washington Co., Pa. in 1810. I can't find him in 1800 Census at all(prolly have to go through page after page of Pa. Census records of Franklin & Washington Co.(then again he could have been recorded under a different family name too - like staying with someone)! Of his siblings Either Mathias(Conrad's Son)or Mathias(Mathias's son)was a pioneer in 1808 of Highland or Monroe Twp., in Muskingum County, Oh. See Below: Highland Township Gleanings from Highland Township and Monroe Township, Muskingum County, Ohio Genealogical Gleanings Book put out by the Muskingum County Chapter of The Ohio Genealogical Society Traditionally settlement began here about 1808 with the arrival of one Mathias Trace, from Washington County, Pa., who took up a tract of land in section 11. There is also a Map in the book from the early 1800's showing where this tract was located I have a gedcom up on this side as well. I just don't know where my George Trace belongs. He isn't in either census records(referancing the way the numbers are). worldconnect.rootsweb.com has this gedcom the database name is icesickle2. You'll find some work I've done on it as well! Take care and feel free to pass this info onto other Crawford County and/or Trace relatives/decendants. Sincerely, Doug Trace

My husband is descended from John's son Walter. Walter and family lived in Crawford County, PA for many years. A biographical sketch dated 1885 on Walter states that John and Mary settled Vernon Twp. Crawford County, PA in 1802 and had 14 children, "of whom 5 survive." It also says that John was born in Lehigh County, PA. I haven't found anything further back than that... Have you?

HI Mike, I have been trying to trace my family tree for the past 5 years. I have a family reunion in the fall of every year if you would like, I could add you to my mailing list for the next reunion in 2006. Alot of this geneology stuff gets very confusing after awhile, but it is so much fun & very interesting to learn about. My line of Trace's also come from Germany. I would love to know the different lines you have in your collections of family information. If you could send me some of your MSWorddocs or anything I would greatly appreciate it. You see I have hit a brick wall as they call it & have not found anymore information in quite awhile. Thank You so much for any & all help, Billi Jo (Trace) Short Mike Miller <mikemilr@blackfoot.net> wrote: Hello everyone, I am new to the list - last I checked a few years ago, this list didn't exist.
