Author: omasue175 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.trace/68.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi. I am a descendent of the Trace/Foust/Brown/Braun connection in Berks and Crawford counties PA. I am trying to find information about Benjamin Brown (1801 according to Evergreen Cemetery, Summit Twp) married to Elizabeth Trace (1811 same source). Other sources mention birth dates of 1806 and 1816 respectively. At any rate, Elizabeth or Betsy was the daughter of Jacob Trace and Catherine Foust. I cannot tie him to the family of Frederick Braun born 1739 in Germany who came with his father, Johann and brother,( at least) Engel or Engle in 1753 to PA. Any help for more information on these families would be appreciated. My third great grandmother was Catherine Trace married to Peter Brown (Braun). Thanks. 3. I have Dres/Trace in my lines, but my connection is a couple generations back from yours it looks like. What area of the country are we talking about? There are a lot of the Dres/Trace connections in Berks and Crawford County PA in the laste 1700's/early 1800's. Conrad Dres arrived in Philadelphia on 27 Sept 1746 on the ship Ann Galley. He was from Aich Germany if memory serves me correctly. mike ----- Original Message ----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com To: TRACE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, October 18, 2007 7:44 AM Subject: [TRACE] Dress/Trace family This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. There is a * by Alverda TRACE because of the TRACE/SMITH marriage. Then I looked into my gedcom file of the family. In the spouse's notes I have 1880's Census records. As it turns out, James and Fannie SMITH are the Aunt and Uncle of Alverda. James being the Brother of Barbra(in 1880 Census record). Now all I have to do is find some more concrete proof that Alverda TRACE is Christian & Barbra(SMITH)TRAce's daughter born approx. 1901! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    3. Hello all, This mailing list receives posts that are forwarded from the companion Message Board. This is called the gateway. Because of the new board system that is now in place those posts now arrive to the mailing list using the gateway address. The proper course of action has always been to click the link in the gateway post and reply on the board but now that method of replying will become mandatory as there is no way to reply via email to the board poster--any replies you wish to make MUST be posted on the board. Replying to only the LIST will NOT reach the board poster and clicking REPLY to the gateway post will result in the gateway address bouncing as it is not a valid address for receiving mail. You will recognize posts coming from the message boards by the address gc-gateway and they also contain the statement: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Below this statement there is a link which will take you to the message board where you can post your reply. Any questions or comments please direct them off the list to jasche45133@gmail.com Sincerely, Joan Asche Admin

I have more details, and some death dates for TRACES in the Norfolk, VA area (from SSDI and cemetery interment cards) if you are interested. I'm in the process of finding their obits to see if I can make a connection to the ROLLAND family.
