They are the children of Nancy L. Adkins and Samuel Towell. Nancy and Samuel left Dickson County, TN for Johnson County, AR about 1833. Nancy's two brothers Abraham and Joseph Adkins made the trip also. William A. married and had several step children that have been listed by some researchers as his children.
