One of my grandfather's brothers emigrated to Australia in the 1930s but the Towell name died out, as they only had a daughter. Another of the brothers emigrated in 1910 to Canada and then onto New York. However, I'm not aware of any earlier ancestors emigrating to the States. One of my ancestors did travel to the States in 1880 to find work but returned very quickly. Maybe he had relatives there...
