I think we are related. My Father was JACK Torrance from Oak Grove La. And His father was JOHN LOUIS Torrance. I think your Grandfather and my Grandfather were Brothers. I remember going to Meredian, Mississippi to Aunt Falbie's house. I think she had a daughter name Peggy. I found your message on ANCESTRY back from 2003. If you look on ANCESTRY you can see what else I have so far. There was a JOHN R TORRANCE in 1850 from Mississippi at the age of 61 from South Caroline. He was related to both of us But I can't find anything else. I think the spelling of TORRANCE changed to TORRANS. Do you have any other information? Your Cousin, Jerry Torrance Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hirley, Most of my Torrances came from around the Firth of Forth area near Edinburgh. It is so confusing as the spelling is different on many records, sometimes Torrens, sometimes Torrans, and sometimes Torrance. My relatives emigrated to Canada and with their experience on boat engines were engineers and captains on the Great Lakes. My gg grandfather moved to Michigan where my grandmother was born. No Minnies that I see in this family but could always be a cousin or something. Where is Old Cummock? He married Julia MOEN around 1908. They had three children: Ernest Bertram (1909), Crystal Geniveve (1910) and Ada Maxine (1913 or 1917), all born in ND.
