    3. Look up Who was the Turnbull who saved a king? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Turnbull Sounds similar to the story of a French Man Knight, whose name started with= a T. who saved the life of a Norman King of England who shot 3 wolves with 3 arr= ows. Then the King changed the name of the Wolf Killer to Trollope or trois loupe or three Wolves. Author: supercaroljohn Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.torrance/11.15.18.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi. I just found this message board about the Torrence family. My mother was a Torrence, daughter of William Martin Torrence, so great-granddaughter of WMG Torrence, son of Hugh Torrence. I have been working on a family tree on my mother's side since August and have accumulated a lot of information. I have the Torrence's traced back to James Torrence, 1600-1684 in Stirlingtshire, Scotland. Is the Elizabeth Torrence that you are writing about the daughter of William Torrence and Crilda McMillen? If so, then I think we are related as Elizabeth would have been my grandfather's sister and so my great aunt. Please let me know if this is the right Elizabeth Torrence. I don't have any other Elizabeth Torrence's in the family tree but my tree matches with Hugh Torrence and Mary Gray and his parents, Hugh Torrence and Mary Fenton. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you. Carol Johnson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
