I believe we are talking about the same Tomlins. The info I have on John is that he was born in VA. He married a woman by the name of "Lizzie" ( also appears to be from VA) according to George Tomlin's death certificate. But I have'nt found a "Lizzie" yet and I also keep running into that "Nancy Jones". I wonder if she was'nt really " Elizabeth Nancy" or "Nancy Elizabeth" as the "Lizzie" name seems to be more a nickname to me. George was born 5/4/1870 in Louisa, KY. Now it is in Lawrence Co, but it may have been in Boyd Co. at that time, I'd have to recheck with the years the differant counties were formed in. My babybook family tree states he was from Boyd Co. but it could have been just a common mistake or counties were still being formed at that time. I have some old OLD family photos including names on the back of the pictures such as "Vick & Bell" ( They must have been George's sisters as they look to be in the same age group as him in the pics) In one pic there are about 15 people with names such as "Stella McDowell" & several "Fairchild". On the back of one picture it reads " Eddie Henderson", Nabb or Nobb, Indiana... this is Bessie boy, Bessie is Bell girl". I also have a picture that would have been taken in the year 1923 or early 1924.. it has my father George Washington Tomlin as a baby sitting on his grandfather Tomlin's lap. That would be John Tomlin... there are also two older boys, may around age 7 & 9 who are most likely my dad's brother's. I would love to have more info as I can't find a birth, death date or exact place of birth or death on John Tomlin... Hope this helps ... maybe we could share info! Denise
