Author: JacksonJenniferS Surnames: Tomlin; Kite Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.tomlin/312.1.4.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The unpublished Tomlin book under discussion in this thread, Descendants of William Patrick Tomlin and Ollie Kite, was compiled and written by my mother's cousin, Easter Louise Tomlin Minto ( Samuel Dalton, William Martin, William Patrick, William). I have no idea when it was compiled and printed (I'm in it, so we know it was done after 1956!), but it's an amazingly thorough job to have been done prior to the days of computers and databases. I suspect it was done sometime in the 1970's. It does have a picture of William Patrick and Ollie on the first page, and pictures of several descendants scattered throughout the booklet. According to the book The Bullard Area: Its History and People (1800-1977), published by the Bullard Community Library Association, there is a copy of Cousin Easter's Tomlin book in the Bullard Community Library. They might be willing to copy portions of the booklet for you for a fee. The Bullard book is of value as well, as it has information on several families descended from William Patrick and Ollie Tomlin. The same group has published a second volume to the Bullard book, but I only have a copy of the first one, and the Tomlin booklet. If I read the website correctly, the two-volume set can be purchased for $48.95 from the Bullard Library, but there's no information on how to purchase, so a call to the library might uncover additional information. I would be happy to answer any questions I can about material related to either source. I have most of the Perkins children from Oregon area. I can use any information you can share with me on the Tomlin's. As for James and Minerva I have Eliza b. 1868, Kentucky who marr. William Dearn ? I can not seem to find anywhere, then I have the next one who is Joseph b. May 1870, who Mary states in the census he died as an infant. Then Ella who marr. Henry Howell. The only child I can find of her's is Perley. And William who marr. Margaret Hensley. Oliver who marr. Etta Jacobson, Millard who marr. Helen Baer, Francis who marr. Robert Small. I do have some of these children's children.I have gotten much off the census records. I have tried to get information off from Washington State Archives but the site is not very user friendly, for me anyway. I do have alot of birth dates and marr. dates written on some pages which my mother's cousin who is quite sick and elderly, sh! e gave me a few years ago. She also has alot of pictures. She has been trying to put a book together when she is feeling up to it. I do visit her once in a while. She gets quite tired so I don't bother her too much. Please email me directly and I will share what I can. mari97381@yahoo.com, Thank you, Marianne Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
