Sally - Frederick Loveless descends from Stephen Lovelesse's Uncle William. born 1751 Tolpuddle, Dorset. William's brother John born 1783 was Stephen's father. Frederick Loveless born 1880 Manchester, Lancaster parents are: Thomas and Alison Loveless. Thomas born 1854 Tolpuddle, Dorset and Alison born 1853 Stilton, Cheshire. Thomas Loveless's parents are the same as for my Kate Loveless - William and Ellen. William born 1831 Tolpuddle and Ellen (COSH/CORISH) born Blandford, Dorset. Let me know if you want a copy of the family tree. I warn you now, that I have lost some of the details I had inputted and am in process of restoring my files. I'm not sure about Francis. I don't have a Francis born circa 1890. Will check further. Hi there gang, Donna and Martin who this might interest. Whilst having a little search today for someone's Loveless's for a friend I came across this entry in the 1881 census. William Lovless (yes spelt Lovless) Head M Male. Age 74. Born- Tolpuddle Dorset . Chapel Keeper and Local Methodist Preacher. Hannah Lovless Wife M Female. Age 76. Born- Southover Dorset. Dwelling- Holme Cott Victoria Rd Census Place- Christchurch Hampshire England. William is the great grandson of John Loveless and Thomasina Gould, grandson of William Loveless and Judith Hibbs, son of William Loveless and Jane Hoare all of Tolpuddle. Therefore cousin to the Tolpuddle Martyrs, please correct me if I am wrong Donna, its been awhile:-) Married Hannah Pierce on 1 May 1831 at Tincleton Dorset. Witnesses at the marriage are John Loveless and Thomas House I don't seem to have the family of William and Hannah and am wondering how long they had been in Hampshire, perhaps Martin this is your connection. I must admit that I have not looked at my Loveless families for along time so perhaps I do have the children of William and Hannah. Another search begins:-)) Must go and get out of my dressing gown, its lunch time and these Loveless's have had me enthralled all morning. Has anyone anything to add to make my search easy:-)) Toodles for now Irene
Irene - YOU GO GIRL!!!. All I have is William and Hannah's marriage in 1831 in Tincleton, Dorset. Witnesses - John Loveless & Thomas House LOVELESS, William Marriage Wife: Hannah PIERCE Marriage Date: 1 May 1831 Recorded in: Tincleton, Dorset, England Source: FHL Number 1239251 Dates: 1733-1847 Yes, my descendancy chart says that they are 1st cousins once removed. I have just checked my index for the 1851 Census for Tincleton, Dorset and they are not listed, nor are they listed in Tolpuddle. I was going to check the 1861 census for Dorset but I doubt that they would be there. Does anyone have earlier censuses for Hampshire?
