My name is Gayle Young (nee Standfield) and am a descendant of Thomas and John Standfield, two of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. Thomas Standfield was married to Dinniah Loveless, who was the sister of George and James Loveless. Thomas was born in Tolpuddle England in 1789 married in 1812 and died in1864. One report says they had six children and another three. My brother Gary and I are researching, trying to find out the parents or siblings of Thomas that may have remained in England at the time that Thomas immigrated to Ontario Canada around 1836.
