    3. Hi Donna & all: Thanks for your kind offer to look up William Henry through 1837online, unfortunate that you were unable to so so. I am sure there are other subscribers who can do this lookup for me, perhaps on a Hampshire-related list. As to William's parents, since I haven't been able to find out when he was born, exactly, although the marriage register may provide the name of his father and possibly his occupation, another case where I do have the marriage register information has not resulted in any further success - this is in the GILES family, where Sarah J GILES (b. St. Albans, Herts.) married another Dorset-related Robert Joice SQUIRE (I have his baptism from the Winterborne Zelston OPC), but though Sarah's father George and his occupation were shown in the marriage register, the earlier censuses have not turned up any additional information. I suspect that William Henry's father may well have been another William Henry (if the V in his grandson's name is a Roman 5, for example) though by no means the only possibility. Could Ann's William b. 1829 be related? Where was Elizabeth b. 1867 born? Regards to all Martin Willcocks Taylorsville, UT, USA.

    3. Martin - hope that you have success on the 1837 online although I found it not too useful as it doesn't give much information. There is no way to tell whether you have the reference for the right birth etc. Too easy to end up with the wrong certificate. I'm not sure if Ann's William is related. Elizabeth born 1837 was born in Leigh, Dorset. I have just done a search on the British Isles Vital Records Index Second Edition and I was not able to find a christening for William Henry Loveless born circa 1854 or William Henry Loveless born circa 1876. Nor was I able to find a christening for Mary G. Loveless born circa 1880. Now although they don't show up on the CD doesn't meant that the records don't exist.
