Hi all, I will put my Matthews into the equation here, a long shot I know. I have Elizabeth Mathews marrying my ancestor, Thomas Loveless in 1787. Her parents were Abigail and Benjamin Mathews from Dorset. Betty and Thomas married in Long Bredy, Dorset, I have nothing further on Benjamin and Abigail at present although I believe there is more to be found on the IGI concerning this family. I haven't found a direct link with Toldpuddle Martyrs although my brother is direct male line through the Dorset Loveless family and am hoping he will contribute to the DNA testing. Donna/Greg I know info was sent to me before Chrsitmas re. this DNA testing in Canada, which 2 'collapsed' computers in our family managed to lose. Any chance of a re-send?? If I find anything further on my Matthews line I will post. Cheers, Carol PS How are you Irene?? Did you ever get my card and email over Christmas?? ----- Original Message ----- From: <AASWEEP@aol.com> To: <TOLPUDDLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 24, 2005 4:10 AM Subject: Re: [TOL] LOVELESS in Hampshire > Hi. > My husband has always been told that he was related to one of > the Tolpuddle Martyrs --but we cannot find the connection. > His father was Reginald Matthews (b.1905) > He married Kathleen Watts > His grandfather was Thomas Matthews,he married Elizabeth Loveless(b.9/4/1867) > Her father was William Loveless( b.1829---parish clerk Leigh, dorset). > He married Judith Jeans (b. 1827).The father of William was Joshua > Loveless,(b.1791-d.1865.he was parish clerk 1841 census) > He married Ann(b.1796-d.1852). > If anyone could make a connection with a Tolpuddle Martyr ,that would be > great! > Ann Matthews. > > > > > > > > > ==== TOLPUDDLE Mailing List ==== > LOVELESS/LOVELACE GENEALOGY PAGE - > UNITED KINGDOM/CANADA/AUSTRALIA > http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~martyrs > >
