James Lovelass was born in Dorsetshire, England, November 21, 1816, and in 1833 came to the United States with his parents William and Mary Lovelass, the vessel on which they sailed being six weeks in crossing from Liverpool to New York. Locating in Wayne County, PA., William Lovelass built the first frame house in his locality. He died at the extreme old age of ninety-two years and his wife at the age of sixty. In their family were five children: namely Isaac, Mary (deceased), John, Robert and James." >Specifically, we are looking for the roots of:> >William Lovelass, b. circa 1776, Dorsetshire, England >married Mary ? in England. >Their children, all born in Dorsetshire: >Isaac >Mary >John, b. circa 1812 >Robert, b. circa 1814 >James, b. 11/21/1816 > >The entire family came from Liverpool to NYC in 1833 and >settled in Damascus, Wayne County, PA. > >James married (1841) Emeline Noble > >James and Emeline were my g-g-grandparents.according to Larry Glatz [email protected] This gives my history which puts my family in England quite recently by most Lovelass genealogist. The name Lovelass is mainly used in this area but I have seen the same family spell it differently. Sandra Sheard LaCoe
