Hi Malcolm The children I have for Robert Loveless and Esther Samson (have seen her also as Ellen Samson) are Amelia Jane Bapt 15 Jan 1865 James Samson Loveless Bapt 12 Apr 1867 Tolpuddle Alice Laura Loveless I have two dates for Alice perhaps the first is her birth, perhaps one is wrong B 25 Jul 1869. & Bapt 15 Jan 1870 Francis Harold Bapt 17 Aug 1878 Tolpuddle William H Bapt 1877 I presume that all the children would have been baptised in Tolpuddle, I have record of the family living in Moreton Dorset in one of the census's, I think it is 1871, will check. Records of these baptisms are in the Tolpuddle Bishops Transcripts, in the records full names of the both parents are listed, Robert Loveless and Esther Samson, Robert's occupation is listed as a Mason.. Robert Loveless Bapt 3 Mar 1840 is the son of Edward Loveless and Ann Bartlett. As you know this is also Donna's family tree and Jackie Keck's (Hi girls!!) and if anyone else, sorry I forget. Edward is the son of William Loveless and Jane Hoare. William is the son of John Loveless and Judith Hibbs and this is your connection to the Tolpuddle Martyrs, John is the Uncle of George and James the TM's, he is the brother of Thomas Loveless TM Dad. Is that clear as mud or what:-))) Please correct me if I got that wrong girls, other than the dates, I ran it off my head. So Malcolm to be sure that your granny Evelyn Ethel May Loveless is the daughter of James Samson Loveless shouldn't be hard. You would get that from her birth certificate. I have not typed out the whole tree because as you said Donna has it on the net. I hope this is a help to you. Hi Malcolm & the rest of the list, I joined the list some time ago but lost track when my old PC died before I could rescue info on it. I have, however followed the trail of Emails that continued as my address didn't change. It was reading the info below that prompted this reply, & has pushed me back to 'getting my self together' & trying to do my family tree. So re-intro's at the ready. My name is Robert Loveless & I believe that I am from the line of John Loveless & Thomasin Gould (M 1746) Working backwards I have my father, William John (1920-1994,who married my mother, who is still living, in 1960. His father was Percival Roland Loveless (B189?) & was married to Ethel Victoria Cox. They had 4 children, 2 surviving. His father was Francis Harold Loveless (B1873) & here joins a well documented tree as found on the web. So far all I have is a hand written/drawn tree that was given to me by my father (from JL & TG in 1746 to present), some odds from his brother & sister (not much help here) but a photo of me at about age 2 with my great grand father, one Francis Harold Loveless. Also I know my grand mother & father had a house in Alma Road, Winton, Bournemouth. I remember this house well & is said to be were the photo with my G. grandfather was taken. Not a million miles away from Malcolm's Boscombe address below? This has become a project now for me to give me Mum something as a finished article & also so my children can see their history. To that end, any help as to how I go about this, what software is going to be best etc, is going to be very gratefully accepted. looking forward to your replies Rob -----Original Message----- From: eye [mailto:eye22@bigpond.com] Sent: 11 February 2004 11:54 To: TOLPUDDLE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TOL] Loveless of Tolpuddle Hi Malcolm The children I have for Robert Loveless and Esther Samson (have seen her also as Ellen Samson) are Amelia Jane Bapt 15 Jan 1865 James Samson Loveless Bapt 12 Apr 1867 Tolpuddle Alice Laura Loveless I have two dates for Alice perhaps the first is her birth, perhaps one is wrong B 25 Jul 1869. Hello Rob, I have just seen your email on the Tolpuddle list and was wondering if you have come across a Thomas Loveless b1912. The reason I ask is my grandfather Thomas Loveless lived in Christchurch and I believe Winton for a while. Until this mail I haven't come across many Loveless' in the Winton and Bournemouth area at all. If you have any info I would like to hear from you. Regards Gary Chaffey P.S. I have got my line back to early 1800s but have then hit a brick wall with a Joseph Loveless b early 1800s.
