Hi everyone, While you are looking up all your data for any Lovelace/Loveless people, please remember me. I also would like any that are found. Here is a rundown on the family I am researching. The Banns of marriage for Benjamin Lovelace to Frances Matthews were called in St Cuthbert's, Wells, Somerset, on 27 May, 3 & 10 June 1792. Marriage was 17th July, 1792. Issue: 1793 Benjamin, b 12 April, bap 17 May 1795 Anne, b 9 Sept, bap 18 Oct (thought to have been bur. 12 June 1808 1800 Fanny, b 8 Nov, bap 31 Dec Married John Wright 1803 Mary b 24 Dec 1802 Bap 11 April 1803 did not marry 1805 Charles b 2 Feb 1805, bap 19 Feb 1805 married Hester Parsons came to AUSTRALIA) 1806 William, b 20 Nov, bap 19 December 1810 Eliza Matthews b 18 July bap 9 Sept married John Collens ( Came to AUSTRALIA) Benjamin MAY have been the son of Robert and Sarah who lived in Chamberlain St., Wells as this is where Banjamin also lived there after 1802 Robert & sarah's issue found 1764 Jane, dau of Mr Robert LOVELESS, b 9 Feb bapt 19 Feb brought into church 16 Apr 1766 Robert, son of Robert & Sara LOVELESS b 30 April bapt 1 May brought into church 19 Sept 1768 John, son of Robert & Sarah LOVELASE b 6 Feb bapt 7 Feb brought into church 29 April William son of Robert & Sarah LOVELESS b 20 May bapt 30 May brought into church 27 Aug 1773 Hester dau of Mr Robert LOVELESS and Sarah b 22 Dec 1772 bapt 24 Dec into church 4 Jun 1773. John b 1768 is thought to be our John ( Benjamin) as dates are OK as Benjamin died18 JULY 1843, Aged 75. The names Benjamin John and John Benjamin are carried down through generations indeed there is still Benjamin John Lovelace living today. I notice there is data on a Benjamin John Lovelace who married Sarah Rebecca Hawkins in London. This Benjamin was b 1824, son of John Lovelace born London. This family has names very similar to our family. It is possible that as the father was called Benjamin the son would take the second name as his own first name ie John Benjamin = Benjamin John. Would love to have an data on this family. Can anyone tell where to research apprenticeship papers as our family were Tailors and therefore had to be apprenticed. I do know both Charles and William were apprenticed to their father Benjamin John Lovelace in Wells. Charles LOVELACE's full name was Charles Fletcher Lovelace. I do hope that someone else may be able to connect with this family Regards Barb Lewis -----Original Message----- From: Irene Howgate <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, 8 July 1999 8:54 AM Subject: [TOLPUDDLE-L] IRENE BEGGING!!!!!! >Morning all! >Carol, Donna, Barb!!!!!! >I spent yesterday in my favorite place Melbourne Library and found a few >possibilities for my Robert's family. >Thanks to Barb I have a lovely lady looking into my family. >This women only researchers Somerset and Bristol and guess where she lives, >BALLARAT with me.
