G'day to all my wonderful pals who have been praying for our little Adam. Here is an update on his progress which I believe with your help is a really positive. Adam is having a great week with great results coming back on Monday, they say that the cancer is nearly all gone from his little body, they are hoping for remission soon. We know that this does not give him the all clear and that if he goes into remission the chance of it returning is very high before they kick it again but these result sure are a positive and beats things not working. The little darling started to lose his hair and so Donna took him off to have a cool very short shave of his head, he loves it. He had been so spoilt by everyone that he is feeling very special. He comes for his morning cup of tea with Aunty Eye most mornings and this morning I have a lovely surprise for him because a lovely Howgate relo (genie cousin) has sent him a Moose from Maine USA, it's gorgeous and has a story book to go with it. She also wrote in the book how the moose in her area steal the blueberries from the bushes before she gets to make her blueberry pie. It's a real treasure and show just how close we genie cousin can be even if we have never meet. Thanks Cousins Love Aunty Eye
Gosh when I received this I thoroughly enjoy the trip down memory lane. Enjoy People over 35 should be dead!!! Here's why . According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn't have survived. Our baby cribs were covered with bright coloured lead-based paint. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, .. and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Even old "Mature" Harley riders. Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.) As children, we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors! We ate cakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. NO CELL PHONES!!!!! Unthinkable! We did not have Play Stations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We went outside and found them. We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt. We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us. Remember accidents? We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors! Tests were not adjusted for any reason. Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them! Congratulations! People under 30 are WIMPS !
Hi Martin Sorry but these are my Loveless's and from the early 1850's all from Australia. They came from Surrey and before that Bristol in England. Laurence William Loveless and Thelma Victoria May were married in Melbourne Victoria Australia in the 1920's. Sadly your William Henry does not fit into my family tree. Greg, I realize that my husband will not work (no Loveless surname) but there are several cousins, nephews and one uncle on this line. Is it best to get the oldest generation? And yes, please send me the information (websites) for what is required. .... Ann

Thanks for the response :-) Unfortunately, your husband wouldn't work, because his Loveless heritage comes down through his mother. Our study is a y-chromosome DNA study, which tracks male lines. In order to be a test candidate, a man has to carry the Lovelxxx surname. However, if he has Loveless uncles, then one of them WOULD be a good candidate and would give you information on his Loveless line. If you'd like to read some more about the y-chromosome DNA testing, send me an email and I'll send you some websites, including the one for the company doing our testing. Hello all. Just wanted to share with you guys that after many long years of not knowing my paternal grandmother's line I have now have information. Thanks to a lady who is researching JONES family sent me the Free BMD of my grandmother's birth. Thank heaven that she had an usual forenames as her surname was JONES. Thanks to one of the helpful pers on our list (Howard), I was able to go online and order my grandmother's birth ceritificate. When I had her birth certificate I emailed back the lady that sent me the information in person who in turn found my grandmother's parents marriage and sent me all the censuses from 1871 to 1891. I have now sent for my great-grandparent's marriage certificate and should be able to track this family even further thanks to the earlier censuses where my great-grandfather was living with his parents. I will be checking the 1901 census and hope to be able to finally locate my grandparent's marriage. Well, that's all I just wanted to let everyone know that sometimes when you think that you will never find that elusive family member or a particular branch of your family that miracles can happen and just when you don't expect them. Cheers, Donna
Greg - wish I could help but unfortunately my line doesn't have any Loveless males that I know of. My immediate branch of the family is descended from Kate Loveless (my great-grandmother). I will give it some thought though as it has just hit me that perhaps one of my cousins from my mother's side of the family might meet the bill. How amazing is that. This Laurie Loveless is my Dad's cousin, I was aware that he had days to live as I am close to his sister Betty and had a great relationship with his brother Geoff, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago, Betty and Geoff have been a great help to me with our Loveless's. My Dad and Laurie were in the same battalion/unit I think during the 2nd WW, they had a close relationship and kept in touch up until my Dad's death. It amazes me that the notice was sent to Canada to my good pal Donna and then back to OZ. Hi Irene We didn't make our Mass last week on the Saturday to light the candle for Adam, but on the Sunday we went to London and lit one in St Paul's for him, so hope this info will cheer him up, my daughter Emma aged 9 also said a prayer for him. Glad things seem a little bit better for him. Keep us all posted. bye from a rainy day in West London. Hello to all my Tolpuddle Pals It has totally amazed me the emails and support I have been sent for prayers for our little Adam. Thank you does not seem enough, however I will thank you all again. Adam's first week of treatment has had little bad affect on him, the amazing thing is he seems so well now compared to what he was like for the past few months. We know that he will have affects but hopefully he will cope well. My sister, husband and Ad's brothers have also come through the week fantastically; I am amazed by them also. I believe they have come through this week so well because they have had prayers and positive thoughts sent from all over the world, yep I believe you all played a bit part in this. Now with all your help Adam is coming home today. He will be a day patient and will spend Fridays at the children's hospital. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and prayers.
