    1. UPDATE ON MOTHER
    2. Donna King
    3. Hello all. Thank you all very much for your kind words this past week. I was able to check my email via my brother-in-law's laptop. My mother is still hanging in there. It hurt to come back home but we all have lives of our own. I may return next week but I'm not sure at this point only just have got home a couple of hours ago. Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate all the emails and your prayers etc Regards, Donna

    3. Please know that our prayers are with you; it's really hard to watch the older generation prepare to leave us! --especially at this time of year when joyful Seasonal family preparations are expected. My 87-year-old mother (grand-daughter of Rhoda (Shave) WAY) is still living on her own but 1000 miles from me in Iowa. How wonderful that you can be with your mother. 3. Hi Howard, Unfortunately all my geneology is packed in boxes in readiness for our move and my memory isn't so great on dates and places without the notes. - Thomas Loveless was married to Sarah Fry in 1746. Near to Bridport They had a son, also Thomas who I believe married Elizabeth Mathews, their son was Henry Loveless who moved to Axmouth. Their son, William was born into the same generation as George and James. Now he and his family moved from Dorset to Kent in the 1830s, where all my Lovelesses stayed, or continued up to South London. (interestingly all the records concerning William's 3 children show Loveless spelt as Loveliss, this doesn't appear with any others of my line. Made me wonder whether they deliberately changed the spelling when they moved from Dorset since they spelt their adult names 'less' before so weren't illiterate?) I haven't been able to find any links across to the Martyrs at all and have also come to a stall with Thomas and Sarah and their ancestry. I THINK I've got this order correct, Irene knows my tree as well as her own..hey eye? What are your Thomas links? 3. Carol I have a couple of Thomas Lovelace on my tree from around the time have said. Both were born in Mosterton, Dorset, not that far from Bridport and both seemed to disappeared from the Mosterton area. Any chance one of them they may be yours? 3. Hi Donna, We are in the middle of moving house, Brian is in Brisbane 250kms away and I'm here, he's got my computer - and my address book - which is a roundabout way of saying I am trying to contact Greg regarding the DNA testing of Loveless line and only have TOLPUDDLE address in my head. Could you send this on to Greg, if that is the correct place for such queries! I hope all is well with you and yours as we come up to the festive season. Must say with moving, house and jobs and schools haven't had much time to notice....I was like a child in wonder when I finally got to the shopping mall yesterday and noticed all the Christmas decorations! Bit like a hermit lately. Anyway, I hope you are a little more organised than I - pre grand-baby as well! Thanks Donna. Dear Greg, I am interested in the DNA testing for the Martyrs and would like to know whether my Loveless brother in Wales, UK can be tested via a transportable specimen - hair or swab?? I have traced our Loveless line back to 1746 to Thomas Loveless near Bridport in Dorset, no relationship found as yet, the line is direct to my brother through the male line. He has said he is happy to be tested. We know there is no direct family link to the Martyrs generation but wonder whether there is a family link through their grandfather's extended family. Particularly significant was the family's move from Dorset to Kent at the time of the trial. Anyway any info would be greatly appreciated. I remember there are websites giving info but as we are in the middle of moving house and I'm borrowing a computer, I'm trying to by-pass the 'searching'! Many thanks, Carol Park, (nee Loveless).

    2. Hello tolpuddlers, Just returned from England to find this obit, so sorry I didn't respond earlier. This David Loveless is descended from William Loveless(1785-1868) and Hannah Wolstenhome Holt (1797-1867). They were married in York (now Toronto) in 1824. William was a gardener and coachman for Colonel William Allan in York. He eventually moved to Esquesing township, and then shortly thereafter to Scarborough. I believe William's parents were William Loveless and Dorothy Fookes, and that his grandparents were William Loveless and Joanna Aish, of Bincombe. Even though this branch settled very early in Canada, I have seen no evidence that they are related to the Tolpuddle Martyrs. Geoff
