Bernice, If you could possibly look up any info you can find on this lineage, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Claire Johnson I am searching for a John JOHNSON b 1755 in Amelia, VA and died after October 1836 in Smith County. Census records show several John JOHNSONs in Smith County in the early 1800s. Unconfirmed research says his wife was named Elizabeth and they married in 1776 in Rowan Co, NC. This section of NC appears to have eventually formed parts of TN. They seem to have had several children - including (but not limited to) Jesse, Samuel (this would be my line), James, Sarah, John A, and Phebe. All of the children appear to have been born in Rowan Co, NC before 1790. My line - Samuel JOHNSON shows to have married Sarah (or Sally) MOSS in Wilson County, TN around 1799. Children of the marriage would include Joseph C (b 1814), Samuel G (b 1807), James (b 1803), William B (b 1818), John P (b 1812), and several daughters. All children were born in Wilson County. I'd most appreciate any info on Samuel Johnson, Sally Moss, and their parents, etc. I have a fair amount (marriages, etc) on some of Samuel and Sarah's children. Thank you!!!! Any info you have - confirmations or speculation - are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Claire Johnson
