I just finished going over the facts, census listings, etc. and that is indeed the right family. My Harriett's parents appear to be Jubal GRANT and Nancy Hightower who married in Wilson County November 4, 1820. Jubal was in Wilson County census 1830 & 1840 and then his widow Nancy through 1880. At least half of his family moved here to Jefferson County, Illinois and one son George was next door to my Benjamin and Nancy Clifton in one census. Harriet Clifton used the names of her parents and siblings in naming her children, including Nancy, Jubal, Franklin, Mary, Elizabeth, Jane. I'm ecstatic. This is an excellent example of why we need to let a "fresh set of eyes" look at our brick walls. Please let me know if I can help with any of the many Wilson County families who moved here to Jefferson County, Illinois.
