I have looked at that census and wondered myself. In 1860 apparently James had passed away for Jane is listed as head of household with Virginia, Thomas, Mary L, Loellen and Zachary. In 1850 Landon is listed in the household of Elizabeth Woodside, 40. Also listed is the following children: Matilda, Parilee and Montelion with the last name written Richard and what looks likea ditto mark at the end of each of their names. It looks like the census taker had abbreviated their last names. I can find nothing further on this Elizabeth Woodside or the the other children. I know that Landon had some connection to Thomas Henry Woodford Richardson who also lived in DeKalb Co. He was born about 1820. A distant cousin has some pictures that his grandfather had and among them is a picture that is identified on the back as T H W Richardson. He must have had some connection for Landon to have had his picture in his things. Another puzzle. In 1850 there is a Susan Richardson, 55, listed as head of household in Roane Co. Also listed is Elizabeth Lak, 20. Clementine Richardson 16, Woodford Richardson, 20, Samuel 15, Sarah J 12 and Walter 8. Another Richardson with the name of Woodford. That isn't a common name.....are they kin? I have copies of the records from his imprisonment at the Union prison camp, but tells me nothing new. I have his service record from the National Archives. I have his wife's widow's pension from the state of Texas. Landon and Nancy Frances and their 5 sons moved to TX about 1875 and I have both their death records. My grandfather was their middle son, born in 1869 in Wilson Co. It is something I will probably never know. But it sure is a puzzle. Thnaks so much for taking the time to email me. I appreciate your time and effort. Ellen
